Taipei, Taiwan…The Other China

Our first stop on the second leg of our journey was Taipei. It will be interesting to compare when we enter mainland China, as Taiwan is the capitalist extension of China. We did an overview, all day tour with stops at the Mortar’s Memorial, which would be like our Tomb of the Unknown Solider and Taipei 101, the third tallest building in the world. We had a Chinese lunch, which was our least favorite meal. One of our fellow traveler's is Chinese and she assured us that it was bad and that we were not being picky.

Memorial and Changing of the Guard

Our favorites places were the National Museum, which houses the finest collection of Asian art in the world and a colorful Buddhist Temple, which you will see many pictures.
