A Full Day to Hanoi

We are sailing into Halong Bay in the Gulf of Tonkin. It is made up of small, densely situated stone islands. It is quite beautiful, almost mystical, as everything is shrouded in a light mist.

We head out to a four-hour drive to Hanoi with a four-hour return trip. That’s a lot of time in the bus to see a city, but we feel that we may never pass this way again. We are looking forward to contrasting  Saigon to Hanoi. We will miss out on Pappa Ho’s tomb, as it closes quite early in the day. But we will see what’s left of the Hanoi Hilton. I'll have photos when we return.
